     Teaching is a system of actions intended to induce learning. Teaching is a form of interpersonal influence aimed at changing the behaviour potential of another person. Teaching strategy has positive effect on student learning. It is an interactive process.
   
      Teaching has four steps:

1. Planning of teaching
2. Organisation of teaching
3. Identification of suitable teaching strategies
4. Managing teaching-learning    

     Phases of Teaching: three phases

1.  Pre-active phase
2. Interactive phase
3. Post active phase

    Characteristics of Good Teaching

1. Teaching is effective interaction between teacher and students
2. Teaching is both art as well as science
3. Teaching is dominated by skill of communication
4. Teaching should be well planned
5. Teaching is suggesting not dictating
6. Teaching is a cooperative activity
7. Good teaching is democratic 
8. Teaching is kind and sympathetic
9. Teaching helps children to make adjustments in life
10. Teaching is remedial
11. Teaching is a professional activity
12. Teaching can be observed, analysed and evaluated
